CDC confirms the first COVID-19 suspected local transmission case in California on 2–26–2020, this case had no travel history to an outbreak area, nor contact with anyone diagnosed with the virus, and it is suspected to be the first local transmission case in the united states. After the first local transmission case confirmed in CA, most of confirmed cases in the state belongs to community transmission.

I live in CA, and eagerly to understand COVID-19 transmission and related facts. Two time series trends about number of COVID-19 confirmed cases and death toll presented in the following figures. In the last one month (early March to early April), both confirmed cases and death toll are exponentially increasing, and did not appear any turning point yet. Until 4/2/2020, there are more than 10,000 confirmed cases and more 200 fatalities.

In order to better understand the development of COVID-19, we should combine temporal and spatial distribution patterns. In addition to the time series, spatial distribution about fatality rate, confirmed cases and death toll are illustrated in the following figures. Although Los Angeles has the most confirmed cases and death tolls, the highest fatality rate occurred at Shasta.

Finally, I plotted the time trends of confirmed cases for each county. If you are interested in specific county of CA, please look for it in the following plot.
